The Archers Handbook

|
The Archers Handbook is another classic reprint of a long out of print archery book. Even the great Howard Hill had a hand in writing this little book first printed in 1928. Produced by "The Archers Company" as a combination book with good basic archery information for aspiring archers and archery items for sale.
In the words of the publishers: The Archers Company gathered the best information available at the time. In it we were pleased to find one of the earliest known articles by Howard Hill - the first set of Archery Golf Rules, appearing for the first time in this book. The year was a good one for Hill, having smashed the previously held flight record at Miami, Florida; claimed victory at the state target archery tournament; authored the article for this book and promptly set about winning 7 National Archery Golf Tournaments.
The Archers Company was one of many that surfaced during the later part of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries that specialized in providing archery equipment to meet the needs of a growing community. Notable archers Paul Crouch, Arthur W. Lambert, Jr., and Elizabeth and Phillip Rounseville, also contributed to the publication. Their combined effort resulted in this archery catalog, and excellent collection of articles on bow construction, technique, rovers and clout shooting, archery materials in the rough, and notes on Hunting with the Bow and Arrow.
