Self Yew Target/Roving LongBows

Self Yew bows are the ultimate in longbow archery: they are powerful, smooth to draw and feel alive in your hands.

Each stave is picked for the type of bow that is to be created from it. Some staves are full of character and others are bolt straight and completely free of blemishes. None of these self yew bows are from billets, they are all single staves, taken to a single growth ring on the sap wood and carefully hand crafted until the bow emerges from the stave.
The Target bow comes with stitched leather grip, horn nocks and arrow pass and a double-loop Fast Flight string.
Warbows have only the bowyers mark for the arrow pass, horn nocks and a double-loop Fast Flight string.
No other bow wood comes close to Yew for bow making. There are other bow woods like Osage Orange which will make a good self bow; however they are usually heavier in the limbs than Yew and generally poorer in cast.
These bows are made to draw to 28" but tillered to 29" for safety. Bows are made up to 70lb draw weight.
