One of the most renowned names in German toolmaking, Kunz, was revived in Thuringia after the collapse of communism in East Germany. They have resumed making solid, good-quality metal planes patterned after classic English models. The castings are made of laminated iron coated with green epoxy; the soles are ground perfectly flat.
